Did you know that the average American man owns 12 pairs of shoes, while the average American owns 27 pairs? That would make the national average about 19 pairs per person. Yet, millions of people around the world have no shoes at all. Valley Dental wanted to do something about this problem in our society. That is why we are happy to announce that we are starting a non-profit organization called “Smiles4Soles-collecting shoes to create smiles.”

Our staff is having a shoe drive throughout the entire months of April 1st 2014-July 1st, 2014 at our office to fight against the devastating impact and perpetuation of poverty throughout the distribution of shoes. Our mission is to collect new and gently used shoes from individuals and our corporate partners then distribute those shoes via direct donations to people in need in the La Crosse County area. The types of shoes that we will accept include all types of shoes: athletic, running, dress, sandals, pumps, heels, work boots, cleats, dance, flip flops, just as long as they are new or gently worn.

The support of our patients is what will make our vision possible. Imagine living life without a proper pair of shoes. Shoes are something that many of us take for granted and buy without a thought about how much we truly need them. Help us position ourselves as a community to meet the needs of others in their tough times. Every donation will receive a free water bottle along with a hygiene kit! You will also be entered into a drawing for a Free Zoom Teeth Whitening treatment. There are many more details to come, so stay connected with us via social media to learn more about how Valley Dental is making a difference!
